DID YOU KNOW?: 5 Drawbacks of Waterproof Makeup

The infamous waterproof make-up can be a girl’s best friend especially for special occasions and in the humid summers. BUT have you ever thought of the side effects of using waterproof make up too often? If you’re interested, keep reading!

-          If waterproof mascara is used on a regular basis it’ll start to dry out your lashes and make them stiffer. This can also cause them to fall out much easier!

-          Waterproof lip products tend to dry out the lips which leaves you with flaky lips.

-          By 3 months, most water proof products get old, and the consistency is much thicker so you would need to buy a new one to replace it. 

-          For those who suffer for sensitive eyes, I recommend that they should stay away from waterproof make up. The strong chemicals might cause their eyes to react (red, watery, itchy or puffy eyes).

-          Waterproof formulas contain a type of oil called Dimethicone Copolyol. This is silicon based which causes the makeup to remain on your skin longer. Since it tightly sticks onto the surface, it would be much more difficult removing the makeup so you might get frustrated and scrub it off, damaging your skin or you could potentially not remove it properly, leaving residue behind which will clog your pores.
